Thank you for a picture into the Window of God! Zephania was very pessimistic. Things could not get any worse. But the people did, or would, listen to the Lord through him and change. There was hope. I think constantly about the times we are living in. Anyone, it seems, who says what God says (Ch.. 1 of Zeph.) is "cancelled," "ghosted," exiled from the social unit they may be associated. How do we reach these people and be heard by them?

Hi Deacon, I think we live in the midst of a seriously deaf generation that is the heir of several generations of apostasy like in the time of Zephaniah. For me, it always seems to come down to appealing to people whose hearts are not corrupted and whose ears are open. That has been called "preaching to the choir" but if it is, it's not wrong. The choir needs to be fortified too! Zephaniah uses the term "remnant" of those who remain faithful, and I think that was who his last hymn was dedicated to. Hope springs eternal!
