I have a real love for gladiolus!! Mom really rubbed off on me. When these flowers bloom the colors are magnificent and vibrant. Unfortunately, deer love the tender buds of the gladioli, especially the dark red ones.
I was walking down a dirt rural country road in Oklahoma and in the ditch beside the road was a blooming very large pale blue iridescent Iris. I guess it could have been a new variety but it is difficult to see how a mail order catalog corm got in that ditch.
